Waterbirth Photo Competition 2009
Winners announced!
The judges have selected the three winners for the Waterbirth Photo Competition 2009 as follows:
1st Prize: Anna, Joe and Jacob from Clovelly, Devon
Judges comments: This photo really captured so much of water birth! The expression of amazement--"I did it!" on Anna's face and husband Joe's face saying "Of course you did!" and looking so proud and happy. What a wonderful moment to capture, meeting your baby with your relationship to each other captured! Congratulations!

2nd Prize: Lee and David from Birmingham
Judges comments: This shot of a moment of calm between contractions captures so many of the building blocks of a good birth experience: the quiet room, dimmed lighting, the absolute but passive support of a partner, who knows to avoid verbal stimulation. Fantastic!
3rd Prize: Carrie, Katie and Arran from Bonnyrigg, Scotland
Judges comments: Waterbirth is so much about being safe--either in your solitary warm space or joined by family in water. How wonderful for Katie to share in such an active way in Arran's birth, and to have captured this moment for them both!
